AROUND DANISH CLAY - Bodil Manz DK
Exhibition of new pieces in earthenware - experimental project. Bodil Manz belongs to the international elite of ceramic artists represented in major museums and private collections worldwide.
Her work is characterized by a continual exploration and experimental activity, that among many other projects have resulted in wall installations, sand-cast porcelain pieces and architectural sculptures.

Lea Mi Engholm & Vinni Hedegaard Frederiksen DK
A memory of looking into the ground. In clay from the Danish subsoil, extremes are searched in a ceramic process. Impurities are maintained and exploited.
An aesthetic record of the uncontrollable and forces that are expressed when elements of nature are given space. A perception of the raw basic soil.

5 MARCH – 18 APRIL
NET & STUCCO
Esben Klemann DK
Method-material research of ceramic constructions and their procedural premise. The finished pieces will be made in constructions one can see on the table, experiments of staining clay with stains and simply glazing them with transparent glaze to close surfaces and give them shine. Gravity used offensively as a form tool with the clear traces of the creation process.

MASTERLY - The vessel is in great shape..
Danish Masters: Malene Müllertz, Bente Hansen, Peder Rasmussen, Kim Holm...
Vessels have an almost magical appeal for their essential shape and unique potential in color, decoration and fabric. It is a wonder when such a simple thing can be changed and changed forever. A quite personal story often underlies each Vessel's expression.

Cultural contrasts, functional associations from a bygone era meet with Japanese Contemporary. The romantic kitschy and often banal innocent expression are brought together and turned upside down. Contrasts of traditional utility and sensitive thought-through come together. Fine delicate plays up to bleak surreal.

No one knows the day before the sun goes down.. in deep water. We gladly follow Bente Skjøttgaard on her marvellous journey. Under ground, above ground on clouds of all kinds, or into deep water, where it may be difficult.

LUNAR CONCRETE

Research project on space and 3D-ceramic print by Karen Harsbo (Ceramic Lab) and Rikke Luther (visual artist / PhD project), The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Visual Arts, Copenhagen. It is interdisciplinary artistic research, linked to Si-Fi, military, political, technological development, aerospace industry. A practical research on the notion of the material moon-regolith through 3D printing and earth minerals.

SENSE of Material
Mayu Ueda, Japan and Morten Plesner, Denmark
Tales on materiality from Japan and Denmark, where fired clay and nature materials are included in the works of both artists. Universes of nature fused with clay forms, where materials sensually touch and influence each other in various ways.

CLAYDIES celebrates 20 years of collaboration. Claydies has made large ceramic objects and jars that inspire the audience to interact and photograph themselves in and with the works. Visitors are encouraged to share their photo on #claydiesselfies.

A humorous and understated, - but also deeply serious approach to archetypes, use function and things for use on the table and in the kitchen.

THE POTTER'S POTPOURRI
Erik Bendtsen, potter DK
The potter's collection and new inspiration from the pottery offers a rare view into Erik Bendtsen's private collection of Danish earthenware along with some of his own works inspired by the long and lively tradition of mainly Danish pottery.
This showcase is at the same time as the exhibition: Manual Design.

Louise Sidelmann & Jane Holmberg
Jane Holmberg works with nuances in the thrown form, the shading or sharply defined abstract transitions in natural clay colours.

Louise Sidelmann explores the character and shapes of the lines. A collision of details, which forms a poetic composition, a sequence of intervals, colour and form.

Sten LYKKE Madsen
Sten Lykke Madsen is known for his fabulous, humorous characters elusively leading the viewer into a world of hybrid between animals and humans.
Modelled quirky characters, favourites in stoneware and porcelain from the wood-fired kiln.
Infinite imagination, joy of form and line offer the viewer new discoveries.

28 MARCH – 4 MAY
SEEING THROUGH
Malene Müllertz
Cut cylindrical shapes, vessels and other pieces modelled in stoneware with delicate decoration.
The forms are inventively added new elements, some providing sound and others multiple planes.
Net constructions, leafs, Jugend-nets, fragmentation are the themes for the new ceramic pieces by the acclaimed Danish crafts-woman.

BAD BOYS and other stories
Peder Rasmussen
He is a debater and sometimes a provocateur, - but above all one who can his craft and plays with it from all humorous angles of the world, - with a sharp tongue, a clear sight and an eye for rediscovering historical themes that he considers and engages in his pieces.

Turi Heisselberg's organic vases have become sculptural geometric objects with references to the vase's archetype.

Marianne Krumbach describes herself as interpreter. It is not the nature or kitchens that interest her most, but the notion of them, and meanings we as humans attach to the things we surround ourselves with.

Method and material study from folk art's hand-thrown animals to sculptural works in clay and concrete.The combination of material knowledge, tools and technical ingenuity meet and merge into the artistic idea. The handmade functional objects are loved for their utility value and peaceful sustainability.

Sergei Isupov Estonia/USA
Russian avant-garde artist, emigrated to the United States, presents new thoughtful surreal pieces.
For this exhibition, Sergei Isupov has specifically worked on figurines and wall objects. Isupov has his studio in Massachusetts, USA and Estonia. He is acknowledged for his original works, and fascinating themes from Russian history to the wonderful diversity of today - and life.

MASTER PIECES - 10th Anniversary exhibition
Miniature, clay model, sketch - Danish/International
The gallery celebrates its 10th anniversary with a string of master pieces made by the many exhibitors of the years.
An exhibition of specially rare and unknown pieces, miniatures or particularly important clay sketch for inspiration. In the true spirit of the place, it is possible to look into a treasury of ideas and ceramics of traditional, conceptual and humorous nature.

25 APRIL – 9 JUNE
OSTRACON - Peter Brandes
Peter Brandes focuses on ceramics, historical, archaeological - pottery, jars, democracy.
His focal point is Ostracon: a piece of pottery, usually broken off from a vase or other earthenware vessel. Ostraca refer (in ancient Greece) a potsherd, especially one used as a ballot, a vote was inscribed. Brandes exhibits ceramic fragments used as notebooks, democratic voting slips and much more, but also painted jars and other ceramics by this highly acknowledged Danish artist.

14 JUNE – 18 AUGUST
LEGENDARY - Niels Lauesen's ceramics & sketches
- together with his previous students: Ole Jensen, Søren Thygesen, Turi Heisselberg, Marianne Nielsen.
Niels Lauesen (1941-2014) was a fantastic inspiring, knowledgeable teacher and ceramist. The exhibition will show a large collection of Niels' works and sketchbooks. In addition, his former students from the Kolding Arts and Crafts School will visualize their experience based on this meeting with special thanks to a talented teacher and artist.

23 AUGUST – 29 SEPTEMBER
SPATIAL DRAWINGS - Martin Bodilsen Kaldahl
The ceramic sculptures of Martin Bodilsen Kaldahl are emphasizing their fundamental existence in space. Through his precise formal elaboration of the material even a casual and banal gesture in space is attributed significance. With a vigilant eye for the monumental within the insignificant the artist works to create the conditions for shaping an intuitive, spatial form.

4 OCTOBER – 24 NOVEMBER
GEOMETRIC SCALES
- Karen Bennicke & Yoshikawa Masamichi
Geometry and experimental interest are common denominators for Japanese Masamichi and Danish Karen Bennicke. The exhibition will present new pieces by both and set the world-renowned ceramic artists in a special dialogue. Each with their personal form language, the meeting will tell about diversities, reveal cultural references, contradictions and contexts.

Craft challenges industry - new colours and blue print.
Focusing on crafts, personal utility items with traces of the hand. CONTEMPORARY FUNCTION
The exhibition combines design, tradition, function and contemporary art.
From Japanese inspiration and British Studio Pottery to modern utilitarian objects and personal art pieces by recognised potters from the US, Denmark, Australia, who in spite of distance, expression and cultural differences are united in their similarities.

Hans Munck Andersen shows new masterpieces in both sculpture and craft objects. Sculptural form and patterned bowls are united in the modelled details and the drawing decorations that merge into a whole but reveals a double-sided area of interest.

The artist collects stones and clay in Norway, Denmark and Germany, and fires material samples for a comprehensive narrative of landscapes, resources and culture in an area that still all too often maintains national borders, despite the obvious connectedness.

Marianne Nielsen is interested in the cultural underlying meaning in ceramics and highlights the trivial familiar objects iconic strength. Universal phenomena in small and large scale: mountains, feathers and flowers which modelled in ceramics, are isolated from their original context.

Unknown Craftsmen: Denmark - 'Mingei-sota'
Mette Augustinus Poulsen and Anne Mette Hjortshøj exhibit with the Minnesota Potters: Warren MacKenzie, Robert Banker, Linda Christianson, Guillermo Cuellar, Randy Johnston, Samuel Johnson, Jan McKeachie, Steve Rolf. The exhibitors represent the known and 'unknown', older and younger, differences in background, but all relate to the philosophy of 'The Unknown Craftsman' in a rich tradition of hand-thrown pieces for daily use.

1 MARCH – 2 APRIL LABORATORY ARCHIVE

Interdisciplinary experimental collaboration project of new materials and techniques from the drilling in cast concrete, glaze and clay during a studio residency at the Danish National Workshops of Art in 2015. The exhibition is a presentation of the project showing the work process' laboratory character with tests, works in progress and conclusions. Textile and ceramics meet in new textures - unconcrete thoughts and the concrete..

7 APRIL – 7 MAY OBJECT - SUBJECT
Charlotte Thorup DK
Module upon module leads to a new form where small entireties becomes one large whole. Pattern and repetition, dimension and context from nature as well as the city - a field with grain pattern or a building where the attention is caught. Porcelain holds in the material a fine duality between strength and fragility. Simplicity rules in the piece's own light and shadow effects that create 'the colour'.

12 MAY – 11 JUNE BARBRO ÅBERG
The pieces are created from microscopic fossils expressing a fusion of nature and culture as inspiration - pattern and organic structures combine thoughts of time, memories of life with reference to human culture. Other objects relate to the theme 'Eggs or Stones', sculptures and objects. Even when the bowl and vase sneaks in - it is still in the form of archetypal sculptural 'unique pieces'.

16 JUNE – 13 AUGUST HORIZONTAL – VERTICAL

Guest artists Eva Brandt, Vibeke B. Krog and Better Lübbert are invited to exhibit unique vessels, vases, jars along with selected works by Danish and international exhibitors represented in the collection of the Gallery.
The focus is horizontal and vertical dialogue by combining vessels and wall objects made by the Gallery's artists Esben Klemann, Marianne Nielsen, Mikael Jackson..

18 AUGUST – 17 SEPTEMBER GEOMETRIY OF MATERIAL
Heidi Hentze DK
From material research and cylinders to very simple and extremely sophisticated folds of graphic structures, analysis of compartmental constructions, collocated fixtures and the colour's influence of shape geometry.
Of professional knowledge, doubts and curiosity she seeks towards a philosophical ethical sense in the work.

The Nordic artists are invited for this exhibition in references to Scandinavian colours and nature. Contemporary Danish ceramic artists along with International guests explore aspects of visual illusion, Visions of the Mind.
This exhibition on the ceramic art of illusion features Leger-de-main pieces with the emphasis on deceiving and delighting the eye.
While remaining faithful to the ceramic medium and its manipulation, the artists play with ideas of deception and illusion. Things are not quite as they may seem. Expectations are subverted and humorously played with.
The French term, Leger-de-main, is another name for sleight of hand, a cunning deception or any artful trickery.

Christmas Exhibition - Danish/International
A Christmas exhibition about unique toy in ceramics - objects for both children and grown-ups.
Artists can apply for participation with one or a unique little series of ceramic pieces that can be anything from quirky unconventional toys to tableware for children and 'young at hearts'. The Manga-culture has not lived in vain..

Anne Fløche has a sensitive poetic eye for forms and signs in nature.
Her work has a mythical spherical expression inspired by the oriental ceramics history with references to Northern Europe, the Mediterranean and Turkey.

This exhibition displays her newest ceramic work.

Per Ahlmann is a Danish acknowledged ceramic artist completely inherent with his material. The form, content, glaze and colour can not be imagined one without the other.
The form variations are infinite, often reference the unreal. Bodily and other nature-like elements juxtapose with industrial intrusion.

Video projections and ceramic works. The abstract and textural qualities between projection and clay, pieces with a strong sense of materiality, scenery or small set-ups based on the actual items as for groups of objects from everyday life - a box of light bulbs, a drawer of silverware etc. The videos are collages of stills and motion pictures that depict things and phenomena associated with the ceramic pieces. Photos - with/without projection.

Ursula Munch-Petersen is internationally recognized for her eminent industrial functional ware.
Her beautiful crafted pieces became a fine industrial design product (made for Royal Copenhagen Factory), that seems like craft: Ursula-ware - dishes, cups, pitchers, plates in bright colours and distinctive shapes.
This exhibition will focus on her great craftsmanship and original work.
